Challenging Saturday for Miller at The Bend

Jason Miller is remaining positive after enduring a couple of challenging Mazda RX8 Cup races at Tailem Bend today.

Starting second on the grid, Miller was shuffled wide in the first corner, and was shuffled back to fifth.

“I got hung out to dry and lost a few places,” Miller said.

“After that, my lap times were reasonably fast, but when I was in a position to pass other cars, I made a couple of small mistakes which took away my overtaking opportunities.”

Miller was running sixth in Race 2, but a spin on the second-last lap relegated him to 13th.

“Around the back of the circuit, I made an error and lost control; unfortunately, the engine stalled, and by the time I restarted I had lost quite a few places,” Miller said.

“Overall, it wasn’t an ideal day today; in a one-make series like this one, you only need a small advantage or disadvantage to gain or lose positions, and there were a few occasions where I was probably trying a bit too hard.

“Our pace was good compared to the front-runners, so tomorrow I’ll be aiming to push forward into the top eight in Race 3, which will hopefully set me up to move back into the top five in the fourth and final race,” Miller concluded.

Race 3 will be held at 9:00am tomorrow, with Race 4 at 2:35pm – both races will be live streamed via the Blend Line TV YouTube Channel and AMRS Facebook page.
