Bathurst Winner Pumped for First Full Time Series Since 2012

2017 Bathurst 1000 winner Luke Youlden is excited to put together his first first full time series since his 2012 Super2 Series campaign, with this years Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Series where he will drive for Tekworkx Motorsport.

Youlden unveiled his livery for 2021 today, notably with the role of naming rights sponsor yet to be filled, but Youlden and the Tekworkx team are supported by a strong group of sponsors.

Hire A Hubby, Entertainment Park, Porsche Centre Sydney South, 70 North, Workwear Discounts, MDE, Bondi Carpets and Rampage Race Products have all committed their support to the team.

Tekworkx Motorsport have conducted multiple tests at Queensland Raceway for Youlden and his Porsche 911, even leaning on 2018 Porsche Carrera Cup winner and Porsche Supercup race winner Jaxon Evans for guidance.

“We want to be competitive, that’s why we’re doing this and now after our testing it feels as if we’ve done the best we can in terms of preparation,” said Youlden.

“We had Jaxon Evans come out and give us some guidance, being a single car team in the Carrera Cup department means I don’t have a benchmark to operate against so getting him in the car for a few laps was integral to our testing programme.”

“We’ve got all the ingredients in the team to run at the front, I’m delighted we’ve got Paul Ceprnich on board as our engineer as well, he’s one of the best Porsche engineers in the country. I’m really excited to get in and put together a full season, it’s not something I’ve had the chance to do in a long time.”

“We want to win races this year and I do genuinely feel that’s a possibility, but of course we’ve got to keep our expectations realistic. It may take a round or two for everything to completely gel together, but I have full confidence in the Tekworkx team, and this year is going to be really exciting,” concluded Youlden.

Round one of the 2021 Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup takes place over two days this weekend at Sandown Raceway.
